well, sarah and i, from team new hampshire, will be getting married in
less than a month and on our honeymoon, we will be staying in england.
while in england we will be spending a day in dartmoor. is there a
site that would best tell me about dartmoor and maybe give me a map of
all the trails and such. i have been looking at mark and sue pepe's
blog reading up on things. any other suggestions?

I know that the Pepes from CT led a trip to Dartmoor a couple years
back, and more recenlty Silent Dog + Clueless and Ryan (the AQ man)
+ Amanda from Seattle ventured over there as well.
I am certain that these kind folks would be more than happy to share
some of their experiences. Mark even wrote up his crew's adventure
in his blog, pointing out some of the subtle differences in boxing
hither and tither. Be prepared for very high box concntrations in
specific areas.

Ryan (Green Tortuga), Princess Lea and I went to Dartmoor last March
and Ryan wrote up our adventures (in 2 installments!)

If you only have time to do one thing, and the weather is good, I
would say do Cranmere Pool. After all, it is the original letterbox. A
bit of history.
If you want to scramble all over a tor and find a bunch of letterboxes
by scavenging, then Pew Tor was our most successful day with 44
letterboxes found in that area alone!

I think Amanda means "if the weather is good AND the military is not firing
in that area". We had three days for Dartmoor but only one day to attempt
Cranmere because of the firing schedule. That day, of course, was
incredibly foggy and wet...it was quite an adventure.
